Sharing thoughtfully designed products that are clean, effective, authentic, and socially and environmentally conscious is a good reason for a brand like Terrain to exist.
But that’s not the whole story. The truth is that Terrain started from terra (earth/soil in Brazilian Portuguese).
It started from dirt.
That’s where I found myself five years ago: chronically anxious, discontent, and then, a a diagnosis of the most aggressive type of breast cancer. While seven months pregnant. Think of the picture of depletion. Somehow, somewhere, I had gotten lost and didn't know the way back.

“What’s the path to nourishment?” I asked myself, I asked God.
I started by creating space—the ultimate luxury in today’s world. It looked like resting, exploring, creating, being, with no end in mind. I found a new level of clarity, curiosity, and courage to make new choices. Let me be clear. I had no intention of starting a business. But I was (finally) open to the unknown.

That led me to start studying potent plants that nourish our largest organ—the skin. Unique botanicals that grow in the heart of my home country, the Brazilian Amazon. “This is fascinating. I don’t know why, but I have to go there,” I thought.
“How can something so raw and simple carry so much goodness, so much beauty?” I wondered.
My hope is that we never stop seeking this kind of beauty, this sense of wonder for what’s already around us, within us. Even—maybe especially—the parts of it that are mysterious to us. That’s why Terrain exists.
Today, I get to sit in a different kind of chair as Terrain's leader, I am simply grateful—for this community, the people, and the partners I get to create this for and with.
This is your invitation—to keep discovering the wonderful, uneven, muddy, uncharted terrain within us.
With amor,
- Bruna, Terrain Founder
